Isaiah Bowes (he/him) is an LA-based actor, artist, and entertainer. While attending UCLA, Isaiah has performed in various productions including short films, plays, original projects, and musicals. He played Benny in In The Heights and Sonny LaTierri in Grease. He originated the roles of Juan Fulgencio Kenediaz (JFK) in The Mendozas Storm the Capitol and Zach/Eric in The Write Choice, both departmental shows, Matthew in Goodbye Billy the Butterfly, a student theatre production, and The Salesman in Club Cairo for New Musicals Inc. in Hollywood. He also voice acted in the VR film Comfortless by Gina Kim and appeared on screen in SYNERGY, a Coca-Cola Refreshing Films ad campaign. Isaiah has also directed and screenwritten for his capstone short film Cedar Mountain where he stars as Marco, premiering in Spring 2024. He has written sketch comedy for UCLA’s premier comedy troupe “Company”. Originating from the East Coast, he comes from a family of Dominican-Americans, proving pivotal in how he represents bi-racial characters on stage and screen. When not actively performing, Isaiah has been organizing and hosting concerts at Beta Theta Pi, and laying the groundwork for student theatre, serving as Executive Director of Colorbox Production Company in 2022, Executive Producer of Jane Play: Abortion and the Underground, and co-creator of UCLA’s Creative Collective, a theatre troupe focused on producing original work. When not on stage, you can find Isaiah nose-deep in the latest political polls or sharing a good laugh with friends.
